Cardiovascular Disease Foundation Hosts Free Nutrition Workshop

What: Cardiovascular Disease Foundation Open House to introduce members of our community to the free prevention and wellness education information and resources available. Stop in and meet the staff and volunteers, have a healthy snack, collect information on nutrition and ways to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, and get your blood pressure checked and take home a free T-shirt. Learn about the Foundation’s free services, such as its Lectures and Screenings, the James G. Murray Access to Care program, and the Healthy Habits, Healthy Kidssm program. No appointment needed, just drop in between 2:00-3:45 pm on August 26, 2009 at the CDF Office. All are welcome to stay for a free educational nutrition workshop on “Healthy Eating Habits: Meal Planning & Dining Out” from 4-5 pm by Nutritionist Kyle Brown.

Who: The Cardiovascular Disease Foundation (www.cvdf.org) is a seven-year-old non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Carlsbad, CA. Its mission is to improve the quality of life by promoting cardiovascular health through prevention, wellness, and education.

When: Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Open House 2:00 pm – 3:45 pm; Free Nutrition workshop 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (come to one or both)
