"No one should have to go through what we've been through. Eric should be alive," said Veronica De La Cruz who is still crusading after her brother's death to change the practice of insurance companies denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.
Diagnosed in his 20s with severe dilated cardiomyopathy, Eric De La Cruz was unable to buy private insurance.
