Board of Directors Medical Director and President - Franklin Zalman, M.D., F.A.C.C. Dr.
Zalman, a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and of the
American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases, is Board Certified in Interventional
Cardiology. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA, where he was elected to the
honors society, Phi Beta Kappa. He subsequently attended UCSF School of
Medicine where he was elected to the medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at UCLA and went on
to specialize in Cardiology at UCSD School of Medicine. Dr. Zalman has over 15
years of experience treating patients with complex cardiac conditions. He is a
member of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians,
California Medical Association, San Diego County Medical Association, the
Alumni Faculty Association (UCSF School of Medicine) and the UCLA Alumni
Association. Dr. Zalman is on staff at: Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and
Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
Vice President - Michael Manolescu, M.D. Dr. Manolescu graduated from USC School of Medicine in 1984. He specializes in emergency medicine, with an emphasis on preventative care. He has over 15 years of experience treating patients with complex and life threatening medical problems. Chief Financial Officer - Claude Lewis, Mayor of Carlsbad Claude A. Lewis, currently the Mayor of Carlsbad, has served in this capacity since 1986. Under his leadership, the City of Carlsbad, which has grown significantly during the last 20 years, redeveloped the downtown Village area, attracted numerous high-technology, non-polluting industries to the City, merged the Carlsbad Municipal Water District with the City to provide more efficient service, implemented an award-winning Growth Management Plan, and enhanced environmentally sensitive lagoons within City boundaries. Mayor Lewis served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Korean War Veteran. Secretary - Loraine Dyson Loraine Dyson has a long and successful business record that began over 30 years ago. She was recognized as a "Woman of Action" by the Soroptimists and "Realtor of the Year" for her organizational and hands-on volunteer work for numerous non-profit organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Casa de Amparo, Community Resource Center, and others. In 1986, she married Robert Dyson, and within a year they founded Dyson & Dyson Real Estate Associates. Executive Director - Malinda Engerer, MBA Malinda Engerer is the executive director and has been working in the healthcare industry for over ten years. Her experience includes developing business plans and marketing for large integrated healthcare delivery systems. She received her B.H.S. (bachelor of health services) with a major in health administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and her M.B.A. in health care management from the University of Phoenix in San Diego, California. Malinda is a member of the Florida Atlantic University National Alumni Association, Association of Fundraising Professionals and the American College of Healthcare Executives. |
