We recommend using Just Give.org if you prefer to donate online. JustGive.org is also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is independent. Their database is provided by GuideStar, the national database of U.S. charitable organizations that gathers and distributes data on more than 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofits.

Employer Matching Gift Program

• Many companies have matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even triple the amount of your gift!

Securities

• By donating appreciated stock or bonds to the Cardiovascular Disease Foundation (CDF) you will receive a double tax deduction. You can deduct the current fair market value of the securities and avoid paying tax on the capital gains.

Real Estate

• Residential, vacation, income, commercial, farm, raw or vacant land can be donated to the CDF. The appraised fair market value of the property is tax-deductible and you avoid the capital gains tax.

Bequests

• A charitable bequest is a gift made through your will that may place your estate in a lower tax bracket.

Life Insurance

• You can give a paid life insurance policy to the CDF.
• A new policy can be purchased, naming the CDF as the beneficiary and the amount of monthly premiums can be deducted from your federal income tax return (as a charitable deduction).
• You can designate the CDF as a beneficiary to receive part or all of your policy's proceeds.

Residences

• You can donate your home to the CDF now and reside there during your lifetime. This entitles you to an immediate income-tax deduction.
