Franklin Zalman, M.D., F.A.C.C. Medical Director, CVDF Board President is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and of the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases. He is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Zalman has over 20 years of experience treating patients with complex cardiac conditions. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and the Alumni Faculty Association (UCSF School of Medicine). Dr. Zalman is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
Allison Liu, M.S., R.D., C.N.S.D. has been working as a Dietician since 1990. She has a B.S. in Nutrition from Chung Shan Medical and Dental College in Taiwan and an M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She has served as a staff nutritionist at North General Hospital, New York City and Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. She is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla where she not only coordinates daily department operations but also teaches cardiac classes and nutrition classes to new RN's and assesses patients' nutritional needs, and evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of nutrition interventions in various patient populations.
Michael Manolescu, M.D., graduated from USC School of Medicine in 1984. He specializes in emergency medicine, with an emphasis on preventative care. He has over 15 years of experience treating patients with complex and life threatening medical problems.

Michael N. Rutman, D.O. has been practicing medicine since 1980. He received his doctor of osteopathy degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1972. He served his internship specializing in Rotational at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital and served his residency specializing in Internal Medicine at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. Dr Rutman is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, and Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California. He is an associate clinical professor, Internal medicine at College of Osteopathic Medicine of The Western University, Pomona. Dr. Rutman is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital.

Craig M. Sclar, M.D. specializes in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He has been practicing medicine since 1984 and was board certified in Internal Medicine in 1982. He was also board certified in Cardiovascular Disease in 1985. Dr. Sclar received his medical degree from the Autonomous Universidad of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1978. He served both his internship specializing in Internal Medicine as well as his residency specializing in Internal Medicine at City Hospital in Elmhurst, New Jersey. In addition, he also completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey.

Jack Wasserman, M.D. specializes in family medicine. He has been practicing medicine since 1978 and was board certified in Family Practice in 1978. He received his medical degree from the McGill University Faculty of Medicine in 1974. He served his internship specializing in Family Practice at St. Paul's Hospital. Dr. Wasserman is a member of San Diego Medical Society, San Diego and American Academies of Family Practice, California Medical Association and is a clinical instructor at UCSD Medical School. Dr. Wasserman is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital and Sharp Healthcare.

Christine Wood, M.D. is a practicing pediatrician in San Diego with special interests in preventive nutrition for children, the childhood obesity issue, and pediatric environmental health. She is the Chairperson for the Media and Marketing Domain for the Coalition on Children and Weight San Diego. She is also a co-investigator with San Diego State University Research Foundation with a 5-year grant on obesity prevention targeting 7 to 9 year olds. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and served her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. She is a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at UCSD.

Robert J. Solomon, M.D. is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in guiding people to return to their natural state of psychological health and well-being. Bob completed his adult psychiatry training at Cornell University and has been practicing in San Diego since finishing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UCSD in 1992.
